School picture days for all students, underclassmen and seniors, will be Wednesday, February 24th and Thursday, February 25th. 

On Wednesday, February 24th, all A-L students present at Clay-Battelle will be photographed during school hours.

On Thursday, February 25th, all M-Z students present at Clay-Battelle will be photographed during school hours.

For our Mon County Distance, West Virginia Virtual learners, and juniors attending MTEC LifeTouch will remain at Clay-Battelle from 3-5 Wednesday evening.

MTEC juniors will be photographed upon their arrival back at Clay-Battelle around 3:00

Students with last names A-D should report at 3:15 for their pictures.

All families are being asked to complete the attached survey for how their Clay Battelle Middle/High School children will be attending school when we return to a full, in-person, five day a week instruction on March 4, 2021 (Middle School) and March 8, 2021 (High School). There will be no switching between distance and in-person instruction after that point. Each school has a unique survey so please use this link only for current Clay Battelle Middle/High students. The survey closes on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

Cee Bee Summer Band Information

Summer band will begin July 13, 2020, and will conclude July 24, 2020.

• Summer band will be two weeks in length.
• To adhere to the county guidelines, we will follow the phases they have laid out.
  • Middle school students will be virtual for the duration of the two weeks.
  • High school will be virtual beginning July 13 – July 17.
  • July 20 – July 24 high school students report (in person) in assigned pods of ten.
  • These pods of ten will be screened each day to check for any symptoms relating to COVID-19. If you are ill please stay home.
  • Pods will only be able to be at the practice site for one hour. Parents/guardians must be prompt in picking up children.
• High school practices will be taking place at Mason-Dixon Elementary on the upper baseball field.
• Students must practice social distancing and need to have a mask for when instruments are not being played.
• Students need to provide their own water. There will not be water available on site.
• If there is rain, we will need to cancel due to not being able to be in the building or close spaces.
• The county has also recommended that there not be any carpooling.
• For both weeks, there will be an online portion for ALL students. The online portion will require one hour (Monday-Friday) online with Mr. Reed and/or section instructor.

Broken Chromebooks can be dropped off at Clay Battelle Middle/High School on Monday, May 11, 2020, and Monday, May 18, 2020, from 10:00--12:00 ONLY. On your broken Chromebook, please tape a note with the following:

• Contact Info

You WILL NOT be getting a replacement Chromebook at this time. It will be at least two weeks before you will be notified for pick-up. Severe damage may not get a replacement until payment is made. If you have any questions please email me spatterson@k12.wv.us.

Although these are difficult times, we would like you to participate in an online spirit week! We hope to help show our community that even though we are stuck at home, we are trying to stay optimistic and spread positivity!

Tuesday- Vitamin D Day (take a picture of you doing something in the sun)

Wednesday- Pet Day (show off a picture with your pet or pets)

Thursday- Favorites Day (show support for your favorite show, sports team, or movie in any way you can at home!)

Friday- Thank Your Heroes (dress and/or send a thank you to your pandemic hero or to the people who are working hard during the pandemic)

Students, please use the remainder of this week to complete and turn in all assignments that have been assigned since March 16, 2020. In doing so, school work will be put aside during Spring Break. The focus can be on doing fun and engaging activities with your family. Teachers will not be assigning any work over break, and they will not be available to answer questions during this time. Assignments and teacher work hours will resume on April 14, 2020. Be kind, be safe, and stay healthy!!! 

Due to COVID-19, National Senior High Honor Society applications will not be accepted until school is back in session. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is with our deepest apologies to our Senior Class that Clay-Battelle Middle/High School has to announce that the 2020 Prom will be indefinitely postponed. We will not be able to continue with this event on the originally scheduled date of May 9, 2020. We will continue to work on the possibility of rescheduling, however, we do not have answers to this question at this time. As the situation continues to unfold, we will update you with timely information. We appreciate your understanding. Please stay healthy and be safe.

Students, please stay up to date and caught up on assignments!!! Remember to seek help from your teachers if you have any questions. Virtual classes are expected to be at 60% by Friday, March 20, 2020. If you are currently in Credit Recovery, please continue working on your assignments.

The West Virginia Department of Highways have notified the Monongalia County Schools Transportation Department that Upper Days Run Road  will be closed to bus traffic beginning January 6, 2020. Repairs are scheduled to begin January 13, 2020, and they are expected to take a week (weather permitting). Parents will need to transport students to the Daybrook Church of Christ for morning pick up at 6:20AM. Afternoon pick up will be 2:45PM. Please contact Rod Moore at the Monongalia County Schools Transportation Department if you have any questions. 

A phone call to Parents to provide registration information went out via Schoolmessenger call & email on 1/8/2020, at 6pm.
